TUESDAY - Friday 10 AM - 3 PM
SATURDAY 10 AM - 12 PM
HSDC is available at our Administrative Office at
162 Webb Way in Advance, NC. This is not a shelter and all HSDC adoptable cats and dogs are in foster homes.
You can drop off donations and access our resource center in this office. Our pet food pantry and low-cost spay/neuter clinic pick-up and drop-off are at our office.
We are here to serve our community and continue our mission to improve the lives of pets in Davie County and beyond.

Pet of the Month Maila
Found wondering on the side of the road on a hot, dark August night, emaciated and covered in fleas, this stray dog had no idea her life was about to change. She was taken to the shelter, placed on a stray hold, and no one came forward to claim her. She was microchipped but the number was disconnected. Her rescuers became her foster family and she is now looking to find her last, and furrever, home.
Maila came out to a recent Meet & Greet Event yesterday and was the star of the show🌠. She greeted everyone who walked through the door, rolled over for all the belly rubs and was generous with all her kisses. Maila has a gentle energy and would be great for any family, young or old. She is house broken and crate trained but prefers to be in your arms or by your side.
Maila is estimated to be 1-2 years old and was spayed and microchipped in her prior life. She is on the small side, weighing around 33 lbs. We believe her to be a Italian/ Greyhound mix.
